The Ukrainian Cultural Center of Rochester is a non profit organization supported by membership dues, donations, fund raising, social events and the hard work of our volunteers. To help cover operating costs, our facilities are available to our members, member organizations, their families, their guests and to the public for social and community functions.
As early as the 1880s, Ukrainians have been coming to America in search of a better life for themselves and a more promising future for their children.
A flourishing industrial center, Rochester attracted its good share of these early immigrants. Time and again, each new generation of Ukrainian immigrants proved to be hard working, patriotic citizens and socially responsible.
Today, it can truly be said, the descendants of Ukrainian immigrants have brought fruit to their parents’ hard work. They have built industrial plants, they became business people, doctors, lawyers, engineers and generous philanthropist, leaving their mark on the Rochester community.
Our Mission
The mission of the Ukrainian Cultural Center of Rochester is to preserve the rich culture, arts and heritage handed down by our Ukrainian forefathers and maintain a cultural link between the present and the past through education and cultural exchanges.
To provide assistance to recent Ukrainian immigrants helping them navigate through social and economic challenges to better assimilate in their new environment and become good citizens.
To bring awareness of the Ukrainian immigrants history and contribution to the American Melting Pot through educational, informative and social events that are open to the entire community.
